Official summary: "For Janie and Cabel, real life is getting tougher than the dreams. They're just trying to carve out a little (secret) time together, but no such luck. Disturbing things are happening at Fieldridge High, yet nobody's talking. When Janie taps into a classmate's violent nightmares, the case finally breaks open -- but nothing goes as planned. Not even close. Janie's in way over her head, and Cabel's shocking behavior has grave consequences for them both. Worse yet, Janie learns the truth about herself and her ability. And it's bleak. Seriously, brutally bleak. Not only is her fate as a Dream Catcher sealed, but what's to come is way darker than she'd even feared..." (http://lisamcmann.com)

How I obtained the book: Got through PaperBackSwap.com. (It's a free online book club, but I had to pay to mail a book to another member in order to get a credit to request this book)

My commentary:  Once again, I have the "odd but good" impression of this book. The book was a very fast read, but it sucked me in completely so it didn't seem like I was lacking for any storyline or anything else. There was more sexual content than I expected, but I guess when a "dream catcher" is used to help catch sexual predators, you gotta expect at least some sexual stuff. The ending was one of those extremely sad happy endings. I sometimes hate endings like that. I guess at least it wasn't all sad. There were good, happy parts to the ending, but there's also the knowledge of sad things to come, so it's all bittersweet.

Memorable quotes:
  • "Safe equals boring." ~ Janie
  • "Carrie loves a good scandal." ~ Janie
  • "Dreams happens in the strangest places." ~ Miss Stubin
  • "There's something about a guy who admits he's a jerk that makes him forgivable." ~ Janie
  • "Dreams are where you least expect them." ~ Miss Stubin
  • "Endless speculation only leads to dead ends." ~ Captain
