How I obtained the book: Received through the Paperback Swap book club. (I had to pay to mail a book to another member in order to receive a credit to request this book)

Memorable quotes:
  • "Bones in every family closet on Morganville. Yours rattle pretty loud, Eve. So don't judge me." ~ Shane
  • "Your father's an asshole. It's not a disease. You don't have to catch it." ~ Michael to Shane
  • "Boys are idiots. You'd think Shane could just say, 'Oh man, I'm glad you're alive,' but no. It's either guilt or amateur night at the Drama Queen Theater. Boys. I'd turn gay if they weren't so sexy." ~ Eve to Claire
  •  "Friends get you killed in Morganville." ~ Shane
"No. Shane, honey, in Morganville, friends are the only things that keep you alive." ~ Eve
  • "Texas Prairie University wasn't exactly Harvard on the Plains. ... TPU was like a wildlife park, and the students were the wildlife. And sometimes, the herd got culled." ~ Claire
  • "Having too much imagination was sometimes a handicap." ~ Claire
  • "I've got a PhD in taking shit from jocks." ~ Eve
  • "Karma's a bitch, and so am I." ~ Eve
  • "This house is twenty-five hundred square feet of tomb. I'm not alive. I'm buried alive." ~ Michael
  • "Regret is like cancer to us. It rots our will to live." ~ Amelie

My commentary: This one was as great as the first book. It has the perfect mix of horror, teen issues, love, etc. I'm so glad I decided to read this series
